Rome’s Iconic Sights: Vatican & Colosseum Day Tour
For three hours, you will explore collections that contain masterpieces by artists like Raphael, Michelangelo, and Caravaggio. The highlight will be the Sistine Chapel, where you can get an up-close view of the iconic ceiling painted by Michelangelo. Finally, you will visit St. Peter’s Basilica, where you can admire its interior, including Michelangelo’s famous Pietà.
In the afternoon, we embark on a journey to the glorious past of ancient Rome with a visit to the Roman Colosseum, skipping the long lines to buy tickets, to explore this majestic amphitheater. Here, you will discover the stories of gladiators and spectacles that once filled this colossal monument with history. On this tour, you’ll be one of the few visitors allowed to step onto the Arena floor.
Afterwards, you’ll ascend up the slopes of the Palatine Hill, where according to the legend Romulus founded the city. To put an end to your day in Rome, you’ll walk through the Roman Forum, hearing stories that tell you about the past splendor of these ruins that once were the center of the mightiest city in the world.

Be prepared to stroll through the corridors of the Vatican Museums surrounded by paintings, sculptures and artifacts from across the globe. From Egyptian mummies to Raphael’s frescoes, the Pope’s collection welcomes visitors from all over the world.3. Sistine Chapel
At the end of your itinerary through the Vatican Museums, you’ll reach the Sistine Chapel. Before accessing the room, your guide will prepare you to take in one of the biggest and most important works of art on the planet.4. Square of Saint Peter
After the Sistine Chapel, your guide will lead you around the museums to join a special line with fast-track access. Thanks to this, you will skip a line that usually takes between 1 and 2 hours of waiting.5. Saint Peter’s Basilica

Walking through the Roman Forum, you may have the feeling that an earthquake just shook the foundations of ancient Rome. This used to be the heart of ancient Rome political and institutional life, which set the basis for Western modern democracies.11. End point: Palatine Hill
This is the actual spot where the history of Rome began. According to the legend, it is in this hill where Remus and Romulus were fed as babies by the capitoline wolf, and where later Romulus founded the city in the year 750 BC. Not only Romulus, but then many great emperors built their houses on this hill in the center of Rome, where we can still appreciate their remains. -
It is highly recommended to wear a cap and bring water during summer months.
Dress code at the Vatican premises: all visitors are required to wear clothes covering knees and shoulders. The staff at the entrance may prevent visitors from accessing if their outfit is not appropriate for these religious environments.
