Unveil the Secrets of Ancient Rome: Colosseum Underground & Arena
The tour starts at the Via dei Fori Imperiali with impressive views over the remains of the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. From here, you’ll get an introduction to ancient Rome while you walk towards the icon of the Eternal City: the Colosseum. Inside the monument, your guide will tell you about the history of this remarkable building, still standing over two-thousand years after it was raised by the Flavian dynasty of Rome’s emperors.
On this tour, you’ll be able to visit the 1st and 2nd of the Colosseum. In addition, you’ll be one of the few lucky ones allowed not only into the Arena, but also deeper in the underground levels of the Colosseum, its most genuine and original areas.
The tour will finish inside the Colosseum, but the experience is not over. With your voucher, you can access the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill within 24 hours after the tour. Located at the heart of the city, these incredible remains stand as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of ancient Rome.
Given the very limited spots available to visit the Colosseum underground areas, this activity is only offered in a small group format of up to 10 people. If you’re interested in a group of more people, please contact us at [email protected] to check availability.
Rome’s Colosseum is usually fully booked several days in advance. Book early to secure your spot!

7. Palatine Hil
This is the actual spot where the history of Rome began. According to the legend, it is in this hill where Remus and Romulus were fed as babies by the capitoline wolf, and where later Romulus founded the city in the year 750 BC. Not only Romulus, but then many great emperors built their houses on this hill in the center of Rome, where we can still appreciate their remains. You can visit the Palatine Hill before or after the Colosseum at your own pace.
